DC Universe Streaming Service Update

Oh no, Netflix...DC's is going to drop-kick you in the balls!

DC announced back in April 2017 that they had big plans to launch it's very own streaming service, which promised an "immersive experience" for DC fans. The plan is for a new digital service that gathers a large backlog of past DC television shows, plus brand new exclusive material. Something similar to Netflix.

Here's every that we already know about the new streaming service.

The name of the outlet is going to be called DC Universe. The service is expected to include many animated and live-action shows (and possibly movies) as DC can possibly assemble all in one place. Like Netflix, DC Universe will make a heavy push into original and exclusive content.

Titans-
Titans will be based on the many and various Teen Titans series that DC has published since the 1960s – follows a group of young superheroes recruited from every corner of DC Comics.

Swamp Thing-
When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp's mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Young Justice: Outsiders-
In the new episodes, the team (Nightwing, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martin and more) faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.

Harley Quinn-
This series is going to be an animated show with twenty-six half-hour episodes featuring both Harley and her BFF Poison Ivy will follow our anti-heroine as she breaks away from The Joker to define her own identity as the most successful crook in Gotham City. Maybe Margot Robbie might voice the Maid of Mischief, though it is not official.

Metropolis-
Set in a time before Superman shows up from Smallville, the planned show will see dogged reporter Lois Lane investigating meta-human crimes, with assistance from none other than Lex Luthor (prior to his being exposed as a super-villain, presumably).

Classic DC Shows-
Though we've yet to get any official confirmation of which titles could feature on the series, the promise of vintage material means everything from Batman '66, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, to the original Flash series, and possibly Smallville. Then of course there's the long list of animated series which DC will be eyeing everything from Super Friends to the iconic Batman: The Animated Series.

Now, when and how much?

Again, DC is yet to officially confirmed a date or pricing yet. But do keep an eye and ear out as their Twitter account, DC Universe, made an announcement that big news is coming. Plus it's possible, like Netflix, DC Universe might offer several different packages at different prices. Right now, all we can do is wait.
